Black Howler Monkey, Islas Bocas del Toro, Panama. When I first heard a howler monkey, the sound was so chilling that I was sure something was being killed. Later, when I discovered the source of the sound, I was greatly relieved! In this photograph, a young howler peers around the trunk of a tree, while adults nearby scold me.
